The Center on Response to Intervention at the American Institutes for Research (AIR) is an outgrowth of the National Center on Response to Intervention, which was funded by the U.S Department of Education’s Office of Special Education Programs (OSEP) from 2007 through 2012.
We have supported state and local educators in developing delivery systems with multiple tiers of instruction for reading and mathematics and then coordinating those systems within data-based frameworks to monitor student progress and determine which students need more intensive or individualized instruction. Since 2007, we have assisted more than 300 school districts in more than 20 states across the country to implement tiered instruction.
