The National Center on Response to Intervention is hosting a webinar on "Planning for the Implementation of RTI: Examples from the MP3 Model Demonstration Project." The purpose of this webinar is to provide state educational agencies with a description of the process the Monitoring the Progress of Pennsylvania's Pupils (MP3) project used to diagnose schools' readiness to implement RTI and assess their professional development needs. In addition, this webinar will discuss the professional development provided by MP3 to the schools and the initial findings of the project.

Edward S. Shapiro, Ph.D., is the Director of Lehigh University's Center for Promoting Research to Practice. Lehigh University is a partner with the National Center on Response to Intervention. Dr. Shapiro's work focuses on outcomes of Response to Intervention models for service delivery and assessment and intervention for academic skills problems.
Dr. Shapiro is Co-Principal Investigator of the Model Demonstration Project (MP3), which is a joint partnership between Lehigh University, University of Pittsburgh , and the Pennsylvania Training & Technical Assistance Network (PaTTAN), which has been funded by a grant from the U.S. Department of Education, Office of Special Education Programs. |

ABOUT US
The National Center on Response to Intervention is a technical assistance and dissemination (TA&D) center housed at the American Institutes for Research and funded by the U.S. Department of Education's Office of Special Education Programs. Our mission is to build the capacity of State Education Agencies (SEAs) to assist Local Education Agencies (LEAs) in implementing proven and promising models for RTI. The goals of the Center are to:
- Identify, adapt, evaluate, and scale-up RTI models for identifying and serving students with disabilities.
- Provide TA&D to SEAs and LEAs with ongoing TA support to implement comprehensive RTI programs in districts, schools, and classrooms nationally.
- Disseminate information about proven and promising RTI models to parents, service providers, program administrators, policymakers, and other interested stakeholders across the country.
