The Center on Response to Intervention, in collaboration with the National Center on Intensive Intervention, has established a standard process to evaluate the scientific rigor of commercially available tools and interventions that can be used in an RTI context. Together, these two Centers conduct annual reviews of tools and interventions in the following three domains: Screening, Progress Monitoring, and Academic Intervention Programs.
The reviews are conducted by Technical Review Committees (TRCs). Each TRC is made up of national experts who together have developed rigorous evidence standards to guide the review process. All submitters of tools are required to complete an evaluation form based on these standards. Information on tools is disseminated through the Center’s various technical assistance activities and through this website.
