RTI Implementer Series Self-paced Learning Modules: Defining the Essential Components

This series of self-paced learning modules defines the essential components of RTI: screening, progress monitoring, the multi-level prevention system, and data-based decision making. There are separate modules for the first three essential components, but the fourth, data-based decision making is embedded throughout all of the modules. While these learning modules can be used alone, they are part of a series of learning modules focused on RTI implementation. View the whole series here.

This learning module focuses on developing a basic understanding of response to intervention (RTI) and the essential components of an RTI model. It provides the Center's definition of RTI and an overview of screening, progress monitoring, multi-level prevention system, and data-based decision making.

What Is Screening (18:09)

This learning module provides a more in depth look at screening and considerations for implementation in a district or school. It provides an overview of the purpose, focus, and timeframe of screening and a demonstration of the Center's screening tools chart.
