Sheila Lovato

Sheila Lovato, MEd, provides professional learning, coaching, and consultation for the MTSS Center. Sheila leverages her practical experience to approach her work, acknowledging the importance of realistic and achievable solutions. With an extensive background spanning over 25 years in education, she has taught across multiple grade levels, assumed various roles in higher education and state agencies, and has guided schools and districts through every phase of MTSS implementation. Her expertise encompasses areas such as data-based decision-making, Positive Behavior and Intervention Supports, social-emotional learning (SEL), special education, and MTSS at both elementary and secondary levels. With the MTSS Center, she presents regularly at state conferences and conducts statewide, district, and school training sessions on key topics such as progress monitoring, screening, schoolwide data literacy, Tier 2 and Tier 3 interventions, alignment of MTSS and SEL, and early warning systems for secondary MTSS. Previously, she successfully managed statewide MTSS at the Montana Office of Public Instruction. Additionally, she played a crucial role in developing a statewide emotional and mental-well being framework in Wyoming, including planning and providing synchronous and asynchronous training for its implementation.
